Please see below for examples of copywriting and content creation work carried out in the public, private and third sectors and across a range of topics and organisations.
Scottish Women’s Rights Centre
I worked with the Scottish Women’s Rights Centre (SWRC), a project providing free legal information, advice, representation and advocacy support to women in Scotland affected by violence and abuse, as a strategic communications consultant in 2022 and 2023. In this capacity, I created and edited social media content, resources and blogs, as well as providing strategic communications advice and training. Some examples include:
- Sexual misconduct on campus: what are your rights? (blog)
- Immigration: know your rights (leaflet/resource)
- Things to know before disclosing an experience of abuse on social media (resource)
The Lens
I created and edited a variety of written materials for ‘intrapreneurship’ programme The Lens in 2021 and 2022, including recruitment materials (LinkedIn posts, blogs and ads) and programme resources (guides and training materials). These are mainly now hosted on subscriber platforms but examples are available by request.
KidsOR
I worked with Scotland-based charity KidsOR in 2021 to produce content for their website and social media. Examples include:
Festivals Edinburgh
I worked with Festivals Edinburgh in summer 2018, producing content for the news section of their website and for Marketing Edinburgh. Some examples include:
- 17 reasons to visit Edinburgh’s festivals (listicle)
- The uniquely Scottish charm of Edinburgh’s festivals (long-form)
- Late nights at the Book Festival with Unbound (news item)
- 10 Jazz Festival debuts you won’t want to miss (round-up)
Alzheimer Scotland
Between 2016-2018 I worked in a part-time communications and development role at Alzheimer Scotland alongside freelancing. I was responsible for managing the website and social media presence of the Scottish Dementia Working Group as well as producing pieces of content both independently and in collaboration with people with dementia.
